Our story

A slower room for coffee and books

Fable & Ember began with a simple wish: a neighborhood café where a good cup of coffee and a warm pastry share the room with shelves of books that people actually take down and read.

The room

Golden crusts, cream walls, well-loved spines

We wanted every corner to feel lived-in. Warm wood, soft cream linens, and the golden-brown glow of freshly baked pastries set the mood, while the book collection sits within easy reach of every table.

The result is a space that invites slow mornings and unhurried afternoons, where a reader can linger over a second cup without feeling rushed.

Neighborhood first

What we keep close

We source coffee from local roasters and bake with regional flour, choosing partners who share our care for the craft. Each order is made to be enjoyed slowly, not hurried through.

We also give second-hand books a second life, preserving printed titles on open shelves for neighbors to borrow, browse, and return. Solitary readers and quiet pairs are equally welcome here.
